Wow.....2026 already!
Is anyone else having as hard a time as I am wrapping their head around the fact that another year is gone? It seemed as if 2025 flew by.
Like, honestly, zoomed.
There are always periods that I feel like seem to move through quickly, but that year was gone as quickly as it started.
So what are your plans for 2026?
Have you set any 'New Year's resolutions'?
I stopped setting resolutions a long time ago. I now set intention for the year. Who am I becoming this year? What do I have to change, heal, accept, or walk away from in order to become that person? I do this at the start of every year, but I also do it throughout the year to retain focus on my goals. I spend lots of time in deep reflection and meditation, and feel that mindfulness and presence is far more beneficial to me than the bit of time I have to spend engaged in those activities is wasted. I wouldn't be who I am today without those practices.
So, share with me what you have set as your goals for 2026. Are you traveling more? Pursuing higher education or deeper study in something you enjoy? Maybe learning to prepare that amazing dish or cocktail you tried at a 5 star establishment and realize you just can't live without? Or are you booking an amazing vaca with that companion who inhabits your thoughts all the time? These are all things that deserve thoughtful consideration, and hopefully you feel will enhance your life tremendously. But whatever your intention is for the year? Make it something that means something to you. To your growth. To your happiness and joy. To your connection to self and those around you.
I am learning to play an instrument this year, and going back to pursuing becoming a polyglot. Has always been a goal of mine. I decided it's never too late to learn. But I am always striving to be a better version of myself than I was the day before. And the day before that. And the day before that. And that's growth. Either we're growing or we're dying, I've heard said.
I choose growth everyday.
Set your intention for 2026. And if life knocks you off track at any point? Just pick up and start again. It's ok. We aren't meant to be perfect. Noone is. We are meant to be human, living a human experience and growing in human ways.
2026 is here. You get to choose what it looks like for you.
Make it matter.
Love,
SS
